A man was hospitalized after he was stabbed in a south Macon neighborhood Tuesday morning, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 911 call reported that a person was cut around 10:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Triple Hill Drive, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Deputies responded and found a 26-year-old man at the scene “suffering from a stab wound,” the sheriff’s office said.

Paramedics took the victim to a local medical facility for treatment, where medical staff said he was in “critical condition” Monday afternoon, according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office did not say if anyone was arrested or identified as a person of interest.

The stabbing was under investigation. Deputies urged anyone with related information to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
