Man charged with murder after Macon woman’s body was found in trash can
Investigators have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman found in a trash can near her East Macon home, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Snapper Orlando Brundage, 48, has been charged with murder in the death of Teasha Ariele Colbert. Colbert, 42, was found dead Sept. 11 at Sanford Arms Apartments. Her body had been left in a trash can, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
Brundage was found in Atlanta and apprehended Tuesday just after 1:15 p.m., according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. The U.S. Marshals Service detained Brundage, investigators said.
Brundage was taken back to Macon later Tuesday afternoon and held at the Bibb County Jail. He was being detained with no bond.
Sgt. Christopher Williams, of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, previously said this incident was a possible “domestic” situation.
Colbert was the oldest of three sisters. One of her sisters, Sandy Colbert, said Teasha Colbert was a young spirit in a previous interview with The Telegraph.
“She was the oldest, but she had the spirit of the youngest,” Sandy Colbert said, with a smile, hours after Teasha Colbert was pronounced dead. “She knew about makeup, lashes and nails, and she was into all the beauty trends.”
