2 minors arrested after 12 year old boy gets shot in Macon, deputies say

Two minors have been taken into custody after a 12-year-old boy was shot in Macon Sunday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened Sunday evening in the 2600 block of Mint Green Lane. Officers were called for a report of a person shot, and when they arrived, they found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Investigators took a twelve-year-old and fourteen-year-old into custody,” the sheriff’s office said. “Both were transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters for further investigation. Both juveniles are charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of firearm during the commission of a felony.”

The incident was still under investigation Sunday night, the sheriff’s office said.
