12-year-old shot, seriously injured in Macon, Bibb County deputies say

A 12-year-old boy is in critical but stable condition after being shot Sunday evening, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened in the 2600 block of Mint Green Lane and was reported to 911 at 5:11 p.m., the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The call reported a person shot.

“When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered an twelve-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said. “Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local medical facility for treatment According to medical staff, the victim is in critical but stable condition.”

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were under investigation Sunday, the sheriff’s office said.
