Two teenagers were arrested Thursday, July 3, 2025, in connection to a fatal shooting, according to the Warner Robins Police Department.

Two teenagers were arrested Thursday in connection to a shooting a day prior that left another teen dead, the Warner Robins Police Department said.

The teen suspects were arrested about an hour and a half away from the scene, police said in a news release. They were being charged with murder related to the death of 18-year-old Qwamaine Lewis.

He died during an emergency surgery Thursday, police said. Injuries from a gunshot wound caused his death.

Lewis was initially listed in critical condition after he was shot around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at a shopping plaza at 154 South Houston Lake Road.

Who are the suspects?

After the shooting, the police department told local law enforcement agencies to “be on the lookout” for a car seen during the incident Wednesday night, according to a news release.

A 911 call later came in that reported a car was “smoking on the side of the road” in Americus, police said. It was the white BMW that officers were searching for.

Jaylen McSwain, 18, and Kel’zavious Felder, 19, were reportedly in the vehicle and police found them nearby.

Officers interviewed and detained them in connection to the shooting.

McSwain was charged with armed robbery, possession of firearm during a felony and felony murder, police said.

Felder was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery of a vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm and felony murder, police said.

It was unclear where and what time the suspects were arrested.

The shooting was still under investigation Thursday afternoon.
