Bibb County deputies arrested a 16-year-old Wednesday afternoon and charged him with the shooting death of a man at a local apartment complex last week, deputies said Thursday.

During the investigation, deputies identified a 16-year-old boy as a suspect in connection with the death of Marcus Cunningham Jr., 22, who was shot and killed inside an apartment at Autumn Trace Apartments located at 1745 Rocky Creek Road on June 5. The shooting occurred just before 7:30 p.m., according to deputies.

The 16-year-old was taken into custody without incident after an arrest warrant was executed at a residence in Macon, deputies said. He was then transported to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center, where he was charged with murder.

The incident still was under investigation Thursday.
