Man identified in weekend shooting in West Macon. Case under investigation

Deputies have identified the man who died in a hospital after being shot Saturday morning in West Macon, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to 800 Key St. just before 6 a.m. Saturday after someone called 911. They found Isiah Macon, 62, with a gunshot wound, deputies said.

Paramedics took Macon to a medical facility, where he died, said Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. Coroner Leon Jones confirmed that family had been notified.

The incident continues to be under investigation, according to deputies.
