Deputies arrest woman accused of robbing Macon credit union, child found safe
Deputies were able to locate and arrest the woman who allegedly brought a child with her while she robbed a Macon credit union Wednesday, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday afternoon.
Sidney Leshay Bryant, 37, was arrested in connection with the robbery, where she, while with a child, allegedly took an undisclosed amount from the Robins Financial Credit Union at 4245 Log Cabin Drive on Wednesday morning. She was reportedly seen and subsequently arrested at a residence located on West Highland Drive.
She was taken to the Bibb County Jail and is charged with armed robbery, cruelty to children in the first degree and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, according to deputies. She was being held without bond.
The white Nissan Maxima she was driving was recovered, according to deputies. The child was also “located and is safe,” deputies said.
