Skylar Luke Hill, 18, and Wali Cooke, 20, were charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, in addition to other charges related to their initial arrests, deputies said in a news release.
Hill was initially charged with possession of contraband, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, escape and one count of aggravated assault. Hill now faces two counts of aggravated assault.
Cooke was initially charged with armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle and only three counts of aggravated assault. Cooke now faces four counts aggravated assault.
Both were being held without bond at the jail.
Someone allegedly threw hot water into 21-year-old detainee Romario Justin Casey’s cell, causing him to suffer burns to his face on April 15, The Telegraph previously reported.
Casey told deputies about the incident four days after it reportedly happened, the sheriff’s office previously said. He was taken to the jail’s medical unit, then was hospitalized where he’s listed in stable condition.
