Woman critically injured in Macon neighborhood shooting. What we know
A woman was severely injured in a shooting in a west Macon neighborhood Thursday evening, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were dispatched to a 911 call regarding a person shot just after 6 p.m. in the 1000 block of Carlisle Avenue, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
A woman was “suffering from a gunshot wound” when deputies arrived, the sheriff’s office said.
She was taken to a local hospital and listed in critical, but stable condition.
The circumstances of the alleged aggravated assault were unclear Friday morning and a preliminary investigation was underway, deputies said.
