Macon man shot and killed after argument in south Bibb, suspect charged with murder
A Macon man died early Wednesday morning after he was shot at a house in south Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Bibb coroner Leon Jones.
Ahmad Jamell Harrell, 35, was shot inside of a home at 600 Paul Street just off Broadway in south Bibb County, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
Harrell died on the scene at about 1:15 a.m., Jones said. His next of kin were notified. Harrell was shot multiple times, according to Jones.
Investigators found that Harrell had allegedly been in an argument before he was shot and, after linking him to the investigation, arrested Brandon Johnson, 34, on the scene. Johnson was charged with murder in the shooting, the sheriff’s office said.
It was unclear in the statement whether Harrell and Johnson were living in the house together or if the two had any prior feuds.
Harrell’s death marks the 22nd homicide in the county in 2023. The investigation was ongoing and more information was not available.
