Man shot in head Tuesday night dies Thursday in Macon’s 20th homicide of 2023
A man shot Tuesday night in Macon died from his injuries at a local hospital Thursday afternoon, Bibb County coroner Leon Jones said.
Demmorio Maurice Faulk, 35, was shot in the head just before midnight Tuesday night on the 2900 block of Churchill Street near Columbus Road in west Macon, according to a statement from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office.
Faulk died from the gunshot wound at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jones said. His next of kin were notified.
Faulk and another man, 51, were both shot after a group gathered at a house on Churchill Street late Tuesday night and someone fired into the crowd. No one else was hurt in the shooting.
Faulk’s death is the 20th homicide in Bibb County this year and comes less than a day after a shooting that left another man dead in southwest Macon, marking the third homicide within a week.
There were five homicides in the county during April.
