Centerville man killed in east Macon shooting early Saturday morning, coroner says

A Centerville man died in a shooting in east Macon near Interstate 16 early Saturday morning, according to Bibb County coroner Leon Jones.

Donmeico Mounice Flowers, 26, died at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday after he was shot on Hall Street, Jones said. The shooting happened near the Gray Highway split next to I-16. The next of kin were notified, according to Jones.

Flowers’s brother was also killed in a shooting last year, Jones said. Hakeem Flowers, 16, died near Pio Nono Avenue after a fight started at a gathering and shots were fired, according to Telegraph archives.

Donmeico was convicted of aggravated assault last year stemming from an incident in 2020, court records show.

More details were not yet available Saturday morning.

The Telegraph will update this story.
