A Dublin man died in a car accident on Interstate 75 in Macon while he was driving home from Atlanta early Sunday morning, officials said.

Hamadoun Oumar Diallo, 20, was driving his BMW down I-75 South near the Pierce Avenue exit ramp when he collided with another vehicle, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Diallo wrecked with another car driving south, a Toyota Tacoma driven by Kyle Patterson, 35, of Macon.

Diallo was dead at the scene, Bibb deputy coroner Luanne Stone said. Patterson was in critical condition at a local hospital, according to the press release.

The cause of the wreck was not known and the investigation was still underway. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Diallo was driving home from Atlanta at the time of the crash.

The crash follows the collision near Smiley’s Flea Market less than a week prior that killed two Macon men.
