Bibb County teen shot and killed while driving in southwest Macon Friday evening

A teenager was shot and killed while driving near the corner of Dellwood Drive and Dellwood Court in southwest Macon late Friday evening.

Jamaya B. Warner, 18 of Macon, and a 21-year-old passenger were driving near the intersection, which is north of Mercer University Drive and west of Log Cabin Drive, around 11:30 p.m., when someone fired multiple times into her car.

Warner and her passenger drove west to a Circle K gas station on Thomaston Road, which is when Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies were called. Deputy Bibb County Coroner Luann Stone pronounced Warner dead at the scene. The passenger was not injured.

Warner is the 46th homicide in Bibb County this year and the second teen shot in Macon in the past week.
