Macon man arrested, charged with vehicular homicide in 2019 crash, cops say

A Macon man has been charged with vehicular homicide in a 2019 crash involving a motorcyclist.

Christopher Kayles Hill, 29, was taken into custody Wednesday night by Bibb County sheriff’s deputies with the help of U.S. Marshals with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Wilbur Gildersleeve III, 48, of Warner Robins, died from his injuries at a hospital the night of the Nov. 11 crash, the release said.

Gildersleeve was riding on Jones Road when a 2005 Hyundai Elentra, driven by Hill, was making a left turn from J Drive south onto Jones Road around 9:15 p.m, according to the release.

The car and motorcycle collided at the intersection, the release said.

Hill was unharmed.

Gildersleeve was a skilled carpenter, plumber and mechanic. He loved to ride motorcycles and was a member of the Old Skool Customs biker group, according to his obituary.
