Macon triple murder suspect in custody after standoff in Florida. 2-year-old son is safe.

A Middle Georgia man wanted in connection to the triple homicide on Moreland Avenue in Macon and the kidnapping of his 2-year-old son has now surrendered without incident after a standoff with Florida police, according Tampa police.

Caesar Crockett Jr., 29, got into an altercation with 30-year-old Jamila French, the mother of his son King. During the altercation, Crockett reportedly pulled a firearm and shot French’s mother Janet Samuel, 67; her step-father James Samuel, 69; and her sister, Lachasta Childs, 47, multiple times, killing them, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Crockett fled with his son to Florida, where he is currently in a standoff with Tampa police and the Florida Highway Patrol after and crashing his car on an exit ramp during a police chase that reached speeds over 120 mph.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Caesar handed over 2-year-old King Crockett to officers, unharmed. At just after 7:30 p.m., Ceasar surrendered to authorities after a standoff that lasted almost six hours. He will be taken to Orient Road Jail in Tampa Bay.
