Macon man indicted for allegedly siccing dog on hospital cop
A man accused of siccing his dog on a cop at a Macon hospital earlier this year was indicted Tuesday.
Thomas Edward Bonner IV, 35, of Macon, was formally charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer in connection with the March 19 episode.
According to the authorities, Bonner let the dog — which wasn’t named in the indictment — off a leash at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, and told it to “get” hospital police officer Franklin Henley.
Henley was not hurt, though the indictment, in noting the reason for the allegation, described the dog as “an object which when used offensively against a person is likely to result in serious bodily injury.”
