Man arrested after SWAT situation in Lamar County
A 31-year-old Macon man was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a manhunt that began after he allegedly shot a Lamar County homeowner’s dog and threatened the lives of others.
It was about 3 p.m. when Christopher Jordan ran away from the home in the 500 block of Brent Road, just outside Monroe County off Ga. 83, a Facebook post by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office said.
Residents were able to escape the house.
A SWAT situation unfolded as police were uncertain whether Jordan was still inside the house.
Two Monroe County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jordan in the area, the post said.
Repeated attempts to reach Lamar County Sheriff Brad White were unsuccessful.
It was unclear what charges Jordan faces.
