He shot their dog and threatened their lives. Now, police are looking for him.
A man went inside a Lamar County home on Tuesday afternoon, shot the owners dog and threatened to kill the people who live there, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.
The incident happened in the 500 block of Brent Road, about a mile from the Monroe County line on Ga. 83. Residents were able to escape the house.
“Please stay clear of this active scene,” the 3 p.m. post said. “We are not sure if the male is still located in the residence or was able to flee through the field.”
Monroe County sheriff’s deputies are helping Lamar County deputies search the area for the man, who “has been identified,” The Herald-Gazette reported.
