Lined up and ready to shop. New BJ’s Wholesale Club opens in Warner Robins

A large crowd of people with carts in hand lined up early Friday for the opening of the new BJ’s Wholesale Club in Warner Robins.

Shortly before opening at 8 a.m., the line stretched across the front of the 104,170-square-foot club and around the corner to the tires, service and propane service area. The first people in line arrived at 6:30 a.m.

That’s not surprising, considering a wholesale club has been on the city’s wish list for years based on feedback from residents, and that BJ’s says it offers up to 25% off grocery store prices for fresh fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, baked goods and more.

When the doors opened, a cheer went up. The line moved quickly, with BJ’s club members greeted by pumped-up, smiling employees as they came inside. Meanwhile, a man in a red BJ’s T-shirt moved down the line in front of the club greeting customers and saying, “Everybody get fired up.”

What to know about new Warner Robins BJ’s

The new club at 6201 Watson Blvd. is on a nearly 21-acre site at 6201 Watson Blvd. in Peach County that’s been annexed by the city of Warner Robins. The parking lot has 582 spaces, with 12 handicap spots along the breezeway and most parking spaces within 300 feet of the building

Members can fill up at the new club, or any BJ’s Gas location. Among the perks is a BJ’s Fuel Saver Program.

Friday morning, gas prices for members started at $2.44 a gallon for regular unleaded and for members with a BJ’s One+Mastercard, the starting price was $2.29 a gallon for regular unleaded.

The Warner Robins club also offers optical services, a tire center, apparel and footwear, a bakery and deli, beer and wine, household essentials, home decor, pet supplies, toys, and electronics. Additionally, Georgia lottery tickets are sold at the club.

• Stackable coupons - Members can combine BJ’s coupons with many manufacturers’ coupons for additional savings.
• Seasonal finds - Festive fall harvest accents, scented candles, spooky Halloween decorations and costumes are among the current seasonal finds at the new Warner Robins club.
• Time savers - Curbside pick-up, in-club pick-up, same-day delivery and standard delivery are available on BJs.com. Members shopping in-club can use ExpressPay through the BJ’s mobile app to scan products as they shop and skip the checkout line.
• Special offers - BJ’s offers its members specials such as fill up for 1 cent a gallon when buying a TV at the Warner Robins club for $399 and up through Oct. 12. Terms apply, including a $99 or 40-gallon maximum that must be redeemed within 30 days of the TV purchase.
• Giving back - The Warner Robins club is partnering with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank by regularly donating produce, meat, dairy products and more to support the community.

A warm welcome

On the day before the opening, Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick and Peach County Commission Chairman Martin Moseley joined Stacey Ann King, the new club’s manager, along with other BJ’s representatives and club employees, for a ribbon cutting and look inside.

The club is the first BJ’s in Middle Georgia and the seventh in the state. Other Georgia BJ’s are in Conyers, Cumming, East Point, McDonough, Newnan and Woodstock.

Middle Georgia has one competing wholesale club: a Sam’s Club in Macon.

Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, BJ’s Wholesale Club currently operates 255 clubs and 190 BJ’s Gas locations in 21 states.

Hours for club, gas and other services

Warner Robins club hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. The club’s number is 478-217-5104.

BJ’s gas hours are 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Optical service hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The optical service number is 470-402-2249.

Tire service hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The tire service number is 844-700-8473.

A new traffic signal at the the club’s main entrance off Watson Boulevard is expected to go live Wednesday. A secondary entrance near the BJ’s Gas pumps can be accessed by eastbound motorists on Watson Boulevard.
