Warner Robins, Perry residents win big with Georgia scratch-off lottery tickets

Two Houston County residents took home big prizes in the Georgia Lottery playing scratch-off games.

In Warner Robins, a resident won the $2.5 million top prize with a Millionaire Jumbo Bucks ticket purchased at PK Food Mart, 99 Wellborn Road, according to a Georgia Lottery Corporation news release Wednesday. The prize was claimed Tuesday.

In Perry, a resident won $1 million with a 2nd Edition Billionaire Club ticket purchased at Speedy, 101 Marshallville Road, Perry. The winner chose the cash option of $535,398.06, claiming the prize Monday.

Elsewhere in the state, a Lexington resident won the $2 million top prize on the $2 Million Dollar Multiplier with a ticket purchased at AJ Food Mart, 648 Athens Road, Lexington. The prize was claimed Tuesday.

Last week, Georgia Lottery players claimed nearly $45.43 million in prizes from scratch-off games, the release said.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. reports returning more than $29.8 billion to the state for education. Lottery sales in Georgia began on June 29, 1993.

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program, according to the release.

More than 2.25 million students have received HOPE scholarships, and more than 2.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program, the release said.
