Oregon-based Dutch Bros Coffee opens its 1st GA store in Warner Robins
Oregon-based Dutch Bros Coffee made its debut in Georgia with the opening of its Warner Robins store on Sunday.
The new 950-square-foot, drive-thru coffee shop is at 2695 Watson Blvd. just east of the intersection of Watson Boulevard and Carl Vinson Parkway.
The new building also has a walk-up window, where customers can test their skill on a one hole putting green while waiting.
Hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Dutch Bros offers specialty coffees, smoothies, teas, freezes, lemonade, its own Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink and Nitro Cold Brew coffee.
Oregon native Maggie Briggs, who’s made a career at Dutch Bros, serves as regional operator for the new coffee shop. Her boyfriend, Andrew Bear, who’s also carved out a career with the coffee chain, serves as manager.
“The first day has been absolutely amazing,” Briggs said shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday. “The community showed up and showed out ... So, I think the community is really, really happy that we’re here.”
Vehicles were lined up in the drive-thru, while other customers parked and took advantage of the walk-up window. Some also took turns at the putting green.
“The line has not stopped moving,” Briggs said. “We picked up, I’d say, about 9:30 this morning.”
What have people been ordering?
“It’s a pretty good mix,” Briggs said. “We got a lot of coffee. We got a lot Rebels. Lemonades are popular. Boba is a hit.”
Dutch Bros was founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, who started with a pushcart serving espresso along the railroad tracks in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon, where the company is headquartered.
Today, Dutch Bros has 1,000 locations and counting across 18 states, with two more stores coming soon to Georgia in Lawrenceville and Johns Creek. The company may also expand in Middle Georgia over time.
