The first Wingstop location in Perry is now open for local chicken wing fans.

The fast-growing global brand is known for its classic and boneless wings, tenders and chicken sandwiches that are cooked to order and hand sauced and tossed in a choice of a variety of flavors.

Flavors include sweet chili glaze, atomic, mango habanero, Cajun, original hot, hot honey rub, Louisiana rub, spicy Korean q, hickory smoked bbq, mild, lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, and Hawaiian.

The menu includes signature sides of fresh-cut seasoned fries, Cajun fried corn and freshly-made ranch and bleu cheese dips.

The brand is also known for its catch phrase, “Where flavor gets its wings.”

The new wing spot opened March 17 at 1365 Sam Nunn Blvd., Unit C, in the Perry Marketplace anchored by a Kroger.

“It’s been amazing,” said Wingstop general manager Kelly Young-Coley of opening the new restaurant. “Amazing service, a clean store and quality food. Those three things will keep you open.”

The restaurant offers dine-in, carryout and delivery.

The Perry location is the fifth Wingstop in Middle Georgia for GSRS Restaurants, the largest franchise group for the Wingstop brand, according to Mike Mooreland, vice president for operations for GSRS Restaurants.

In 2024, GSRS Restaurants opened new Wingstops at 789 Ga. 96, Suite 1A, in the Bonaire community of Warner Robins and at 156 Tom Hill Sr. Blvd., Suite 246, in the Shops at North Park in Macon.

The other Wingstops in Middle Georgia are at 2674 Watson Blvd., Suite 340, in Centerville and at 4634 Presidential Parkway in Macon.

The Macon location was the first Wingstop to open in Middle Georgia in 2016. Boss Wings III, LLC and rapper and Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross originally opened the Wingstop off Presidential Parkway in Macon, according to Telegraph archives. Ross originally was behind the Centerville store also. GSRS Restaurants purchased both of those franchises about 2-½ years ago.

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Wingstop operates and franchises more than 2,550 locations worldwide.

As of August, GSRS Restaurants had nearly 200 Wingstops across the country, including in Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey in addition to Georgia.

The new Wingstop in Perry is open from 10:30 a.m. to midnight daily.
