A McAlister’s Deli is going up at 760 Ga. 96 in Warner Robins, the third location for the Mississippi-founded chain of fast casual restaurants headquartered in Atlanta.

Site work has been completed, with the frame now going up at the Warner Robins location next to a Fazoli’s in the Bonaire community.

The 2,985 square foot restaurant includes a drive-thru on a little over 1 acre site, according to construction site plans submitted with the city of Warner Robins.

The restaurant is expected to open next year, possibly in the first quarter.

“The projected date is heavily influenced by supply chain and construction, which are still feeling major impacts with COVID, so the current track still looks like early to mid 2022 if everything goes to plan,” said Madison Stevens, company spokeswoman.

McAlister’s Deli serves a variety of sandwiches, salads, spuds, soups and desserts, according to its website.

Popular menu items include the McAlister’s club and french dip sandwiches, the Savannah chopped salad and the spud max, according to the website.

New menu additions include the “colossol” carrot cake, chicken and dumplings and the steak and mushroom sandwich, according to the website.

The restaurant chain has more than 500 locations nationwide, including 22 in Georgia. Of those in Georgia, the two other Middle Georgia locations are both in Macon: one at 4641 Presidential Parkway and the other at 6255 Zebulon Road, Suite 370.
