Buc-ee’s now hiring 150 employees for its Warner Robins location. Here’s how to apply

Buc-ee’s, a Texas-based chain of travel centers, is now hiring 150 employees for its Warner Robins location with plans to open this fall, a company spokesman says.

“We’re working hard to open before Thanksgiving,” said Jeff Nadalo, company spokesman and general counsel.

Positions currently listed include cashiers, merchandise associates, warehouse grocery stockers, food service workers and cleaning/janitorial/maintenance attendants, according to the company’s website.

Pay for those positions was listed at $14 to $15 an hour, plus a benefits package, according to the website.

The website also lists an assistant manager position with a $57,000 salary and benefits package.

Other positions posted include bookkeeper, human resource field representative, night manager and assistant food services manager. Those job postings did not disclose a salary but did list the benefits package.

“It’s a constant process,” Nadalo said. “Even through the day of opening, they’re still visiting with people and interviewing ..

“They’ll often hire more than 200 but at least 150,” he said.

The 22-acre site is located on the south side of Russell Parkway in Peach County on property annexed by Warner Robins, which is in Houston County. The location has a Fort Valley mailing address.

Buc-ee’s expects to draw 8,000 to 10,000 vehicles off Interstate-75 a week, with Warner Robins Mayor Randy Toms expecting the travel center to boost the local economy.

Billboards advertising the 53,000-square-foot travel center have been up for months along the southbound lanes of the interstate as motorists enter Houston County.

A second-turn lane off the southbound-exit ramp of I-75 at Russell Parkway is now under construction.

The Warner Robins location represents a $35 million investment by the chain that continues to expand in the Southeast, having already opened its first Alabama store with plans for multiple locations in Alabama and Florida.

Buc-ee’s is known for its smiling beaver mascot, its plethora of food choices and its clean restrooms. The new location is expected to offer all of Buc-ee’s favorites, including Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, Beaver nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries, according to a company news release.

COVID-19 safety measures are practiced at all Buc-ee’s locations, according to Nadalo.

The company broke ground on the project Nov. 18.

The Warner Robins location will be the first Buc-ee’s to open in Georgia, with a second location in the state now under construction off I-75 in Calhoun.

Buc-ee’s is also hiring for the Calhoun location, which is expected to open next year, according to the company’s website.
