Publix, Target, UPS & more: Here’s what will be open and closed in Macon for July 4th holiday
Burgers, fireworks and cold drinks. That’s right, preparations are underway for the 4th of July, but remember that some businesses will be closed in observance of the day.
This year, the 4th is on Saturday, so some businesses might observe the holiday on Friday.

Which businesses will be closed in Macon?
There will be no regular mail services on July Fourth, but Priority Mail Express will still run. UPS and Fedex will also not have pickup and delivery services.
Banks such as Capital One, Bank of America, PNC, Truist, CitiBank and JPMorgan Chase will all be closed on the 4th.
All government businesses and offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd for the holiday.
Which grocery stores will be open?
These stores will remain open on the 4th, but the hours of operation may vary by location:
- ALDI
- Publix
- Kroger
- Sam’s Club
- Target
- Walmart
- Whole Foods
