When will it finally rain in Macon? Here’s the forecast as wildfire threats continue

Macon will see some hazy skies over the next few days, as wildfires in south Georgia and northern Florida spread up through the state.

According to National Weather Service (NWS) experts, Macon is included in the High Fire Danger area, which means that “any fires that develop could spread rapidly due to low humidity and dry vegetation.”

Outdoor burning is also “strongly discouraged.”

Is there any relief in sight? Here’s what to know about possible rain chances:

When will it rain in Macon?

While NWS experts are unsure of how much rain is coming, there are growing chances of rain from Saturday into early next week in Georgia.

Saturday, there’s a 75% chance of rain and a few storms are also possible, but Sunday and Monday have lower chances, around 25% to 40%. On Tuesday, the chances rise to 60%.

Locally in Macon, AccuWeather meteorologists are expecting a 55% chance of rain on Saturday and cloud cover with a possible thunderstorm. Sunday remains about the same chances, but Monday and Tuesday, the rain chances diminish to 25%.

Highs over the next few days will remain in the low to mid 80s and there will be plenty of sun, mixed with some clouds.
