Snow, ice and chances of freezing rain. Macon has already seen plenty of winter weather thus far in 2026, but more could be coming. Here’s what to know:

Is snow in the forecast for this weekend in Macon?

While there is a 30% chance of snow in the National Weather Service’s forecast for Saturday, forecasters aren’t too sure it will be reality for Macon areas.

“Confidence is low for snow in the north and central Georgia areas as a whole this weekend,” Meredith Wyatt with the National Weather Service told the Telegraph. “Far eastern Georgia, well east of Macon, could see wintry precipitation, but our main concern is a return to much colder temperatures”

Saturday will be the coldest day of the weekend, with “feel-like” temperatures in the teens and highs will not exceed the 30s.

Currently, there’s a Cold Weather Advisory in effect for most of the state and a Hazardous Weather Outlook through the weekend for Macon and surrounding areas.

So, National Weather Service experts say the chances of snow remain low, but what about other weather experts? Let’s take a look:

What do other experts say about snow chances this weekend?

AccuWeather meteorologists are predicting either rain or snow for Georgia on Saturday, depending on the track of the storm. Right now there’s a 35% chance of precipitation on Saturday and highs are predicted to only reach 36 degrees.

“Depending on exactly when the storm strengthens, snow could mix with rain from Interstate 10 northward across parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia,” said Courtney Travis, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

Lastly, Weather Channel experts said that “a few flurries or snow showers are possible,” and there will be cloudy skies early on Saturday.
