A school threat targeting Feagin Mill Middle School was under investigation Monday morning, with increased police presence at the campus, Houston County Sheriff Matthew Moulton said.

The threat was circulated on TikTok, Moulton said.

Moulton said there have been no arrests at this time, but charges are pending.

“We are waiting on some forensic exams to be completed to determine exactly who posted the threat,” Moulton told The Telegraph. “We are actively investigating this threat, and we’re taking it serious.”

Several students received the threat on TikTok, and then parents reported the threat to the school board office. Local law enforcement was notified.

“Once we got involved with it, our investigators were quickly able to determine the origin of the threat, and we were able to make contact with the family, parents and children involved, and that’s where the investigation is at right now,” Moulton said.

Moulton said there was no active threat to the school Monday morning, but school administrators decided the involved students will not return until the investigation concludes.

The parents of the identified suspects will need to bring their students to meet with administrators once the probe is finished, he added.

Moulton said as of now, local law enforcement is not sure which student made the post, but at least two students were identified in connection with the potential threat.

District spokesperson Jennifer Jones said officials are unable to identify the students, due to federal law. However, Jones emphasized.

“We want our community to know that there are two investigations underway — law enforcement is handling the criminal investigation, while the school district is conducting its own investigation into this serious violation of the Student Code of Conduct,” Jones said in an email.

Several Warner Robins parents have stated online that their children will remain at home until an arrest is made, citing safety concerns.

“We understand that this type of situation can be unsettling for students and parents. The safety and well-being of our students and staff will always be our number one priority,” Jones said. “We take safety concerns very seriously. Every report is investigated thoroughly and addressed quickly.”

Jones added that students who make threats toward schools face significant consequences.

“As outlined in our Student Code of Conduct, disciplinary action can include up to expulsion,” she said.

Moulton and Jones confirmed increased police presence at the middle school but did not specify how long the enhanced security measures would continue.

“At this time, we do not believe there is an active threat towards the school, and when more information is available, we will be releasing it,” he said.

The investigation comes as school districts nationwide grapple with threats made against campuses, often shared through social media platforms.

Feagin Mill Middle School Principal Elizabeth Foster notified families about the incident Sunday evening, according to Jones.

“Earlier today, a post was made on social media with a threat against our school. Local law enforcement immediately began investigating. They have identified where the post originated from, and law enforcement is handling the situation

“Making threats against a school is a serious offense with severe consequences. Threats disrupt the learning environment, cause unnecessary fear, and they will not be tolerated. Additional law enforcement officers will be on campus while the investigation continues. Thank you for your support of Feagin Mill Middle,” Foster said in the call-out message.
