Man shot to death at Macon residence

A man was shot to death in the 4500 block of Ayers Road on Saturday afternoon.

Joseph Lee Grayer, 30, of Macon, was shot in the upper chest and pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

He was shot in some sort of “altercation” in the residence just after 3 p.m., the release said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has not made the determination whether the death was a homicide, according to Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Four people who were in the residence at the time of the shooting were taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed by investigators.
