Two Crawford County motorcyclists killed in Bibb County crash, coroner says

Two motorcyclists were killed in a crash with a pickup truck on Hartley Bridge Road just west of Sardis Church Road late Friday, authorities said.

The victims were identified as Troy Michael Myrick, 24, and Blake Heflin, 22, both of Crawford County, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Both were likely killed instantly in the crash shortly before midnight, Jones said. They were pronounced dead on scene at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

Myrick and Heflin were roommates and worked for Advance Auto stores, one in Fort Valley and the other in Byron, Jones said.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt, Jones said.

The Macon-Bibb 911 Center got the call of the crash at 11:53 p.m., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The motorcyclists were traveling west and the pickup east in the 600 block of Hartley Bridge Road when the vehicles collided, the release said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with a fatality accident investigator.
