Man charged with murder in shooting outside River Walk Apartments in Macon

A 20-year-old Macon man has been charged with murder in a shooting outside River Walk Apartments.

Kendarius Trevon Hill was arrested on a warrant just after 11:45 p.m. Friday after a traffic stop in Sandy Springs, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to the apartment complex at 5578 Riverside Drive at 9:24 p.m. about a person shot.

Douglas Wilmale Stevenson was found unresponsive inside a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The 22-year-old had been shot multiple times.

“It was reported that there was a large crowd near the 100 Building when an altercation started and shots were fired,” the news release said.

No other information about the arrest or shooting was released early Saturday.

The shooting remains under investigation.
