Two charged with murder, stealing a car in stabbing of missing Macon man
A man and woman are charged with murder in the stabbing of a Macon man who had been reported missing.
Jeremy James Bryant, 38, of Fort Valley, and Shelia Lewis Weeks, 43, of Macon, are also charged with theft by taking auto and concealing the death of another.
April 30, 51-year-old Randall Head of Macon was found stabbed to death behind Ollie’s Bargain Outlet on Mercer University Drive. He’d been stabbed in the neck.
Construction workers found his body 6 feet down an embankment behind the store.
Head was last seen alive leaving his home April 25. He was reported missing April 27.
Bryant and Weeks were arrested Thursday night after a tip to Macon Regional Crimestoppers that they were hanging out in the area of Spring Street at the Interstate-16 overpass, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Bryant took off running, but was arrested after a short foot chase by sheriff’s investigators and U.S. marshals with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Weeks was arrested without incident.
Bryant and Weeks were being held without bond Friday at the Bibb County jail.
