Third person arrested on murder charge in Napier Avenue shooting in Macon, cops say

A third person has been arrested on connection a Sunday afternoon killing in Macon.

Jahrius Isaiah Justus Whitehead, 27, of Macon, was taken into custody during a traffic stop Friday afternoon and charged with murder, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Earlier this week, Jimon Tracey Watkins, 22, and ShaMarques Trevon Watkins, 25, brothers from Macon, were charged with murder in the shooting.

At 1:35 p.m. April 19, Doug Boyd, 27, of Macon, was shot once in the chest during a fist fight inside a home at 4211 Napier Ave., according to Bibb County sheriff’s Sgt. Clay Williams. Boyd died five hours later at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.

A friend picked up the Boyd to take him to the hospital when they saw deputies and firefighters working an accident on Napier Avenue, officials say. Boyd was then taken by ambulance to the hospital.
