Bibb sheriff’s deputy killed in early morning crash

A Bibb County sheriff’s deputy was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday in north Macon.

Kenterrous Taylor, 27, was responding to a burglary in progress on Zebulon Road when he crashed at 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Forsyth Road and Rivoli Drive, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Taylor lost control of his vehicle, striking a wall and overturning, the release said. He was ejected from the vehicle.

Taylor had worked for the sheriff’s office for one year.

He also had worked for Fort Valley State University’s Department of Public Safety.

Taylor is survived by his fiancee and three children, according to a sheriff’s office email.

He was from Macon and attended Howard High School, according to his Facebook page.

The incident remains under investigation.
