Deadly shooting at Huddle House in Milledgeville may be gang-related, police say
A shootout at a Huddle House in Milledgeville that left a 17-year-old dead and 24-year-old man seriously injured early Saturday might have been gang-related, the police chief said.
Jamontae Solomon was found dead just after 4:15 a.m. outside the restaurant at 300 East Hancock St. , where arriving officers also found a wounded Eric Marshall, said Milledgeville police Chief Dray Swicord.
Marshall was listed in critical condition early Saturday afternoon at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon, Swicord said. Marshall initially had been taken to Medical Center of Baldwin County, Navicent Health.
Solomon and Marshall got into a dispute inside the restaurant that spilled out into the parking lot with the two firing at each other, Swicord said.
Solomon and Marshall, who were each with others inside the restaurant, had an on-going rivalry that might have been gang-related, Swicord said.
No customers or restaurant workers were injured, he said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Milledgeville Police at 478-414-4000, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
