Armed, masked man robs Macon gas station

A masked man robbed a Macon gas station clerk at gunpoint early Wednesday.

The man came into a Murphy Express on Gray Highway just before 3 a.m. “brandishing” a handgun and demanding that the clerk hand over money, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The clerk complied and the man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.

No one was harmed.

The suspect was described to deputies as a young man dressed in dark clothing with his face covered by a mask, according to the release.
