What to do if you’ve been in a car accident
A motorcyclist died from injuries sustained in two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in East Macon.
Eric Ashley, 53, of Lizella, was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m. at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
He died of blunt force trauma, Jones said.
About 2 p.m., Ashley’s motorcycle and a 2004 Nissan Murano on Emery Highway collided at Lakeside Road, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The motorcycle was traveling west on Emery Highway and the SUV driver was making a left turn onto Lakeside Road, the release said. The SUV driver was not hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
It is the third fatality involving a motorcycle in recent weeks in Bibb County, Jones said.
Anthony Wayne Neal, 54, of Macon, was killed April 13 after a vehicle pulled in front of his motorcycle on Eisenhower Parkway, according to an earlier Sheriff’s Office news release.
On March 30, motorcycle passenger Leslie Henderson, 54, of Peach County, died in a two-vehicle crash on Sardis Church Road.
