Driver charged with vehicular homicide in crash that killed Fort Valley woman

A Warner Robins woman was booked into the Houston County jail on a vehicular homicide charge Friday from a July 10 crash.

Carol Ann Van Nostrand, 52, also is charged with DUI and following too closely in the summer crash that killed Pamela Mobley Banks on Watson Boulevard, according to jail records.

Just before 9:10 p.m. that Monday night, Banks was driving a Smart car in the right westbound lane of Watson near the intersection of North Briarcliff Road when she was hit from behind by Van Nostrand’s 2006 Acura RSX, according to a Warner Robins police news release.

Banks’ 2013 Smart car rolled forward, jumped the curb, hit a support pole and rolled over.

Van Nostrand was injured in the crash and was taken to nearby Houston Medical Center.

The Warner Robins police traffic division investigated the crash.
