Middle Georgia up to 490 COVID-19 cases

The Telegraph will provide an updated number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Middle Georgia at noon and 7 p.m.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 490 positive COVID-19 cases in Middle Georgia in its 7 p.m. update Tuesday, up 26 from noon Tuesday.

Bibb County saw the largest increase with 10 new cases. Baldwin also had nine new cases in the latest update. Houston and Macon each had two new cases. Twiggs had one additional case.

As of Tuesday’s report, Monroe, Laurens, Wilkinson and Pulaski County each have one confirmed death from COVID-19 in addition to the nine in Houston County, two in Peach County and one in Bibb County.

Here’s a breakdown of cases and deaths by county:

  • Macon 47, 0

  • Laurens 35, 1

  • Peach 24, 2

  • Washington 22, 0

  • Dodge 17, 0

  • Jones 14, 0

  • Monroe 13, 1
  • Wilkinson 12, 1

  • Pulaski 11, 1

  • Crawford 9, 0

  • Bleckley 3, 0

  • Twiggs 3, 0

At noon the state of Georgia reported 14,578 confirmed cases and 524 deaths, with 18 in Middle Georgia.
