Third Bibb County Schools employee tests positive for coronavirus

A third Bibb County School District employee tested positive for the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, according to a release from the district Wednesday evening.

The individual works at Southwest High School, the second Southwest employee to be diagnosed with the new coronavirus. The third works at Ballard-Hudson Middle School. According to a press release, due to FERPA and HIPAA regulations, more information about the individuals and their medical conditions cannot be shared.

“All Bibb County School District schools have been closed since Monday, March 16, due to COVID-19 and students are participating in eLearning in the interim,” the district said in a release. “During the closure, all buildings are undergoing a deep cleaning that will include multiple steps as part of the disinfection process.”
