As concerns about COVID-19 and federal guidelines keep people inside their homes and away from crowds, local businesses are starting to feel the economic impact of the sudden loss of customers.

However, just because dining inside of restaurants and bars is discouraged (and banned in some cities states), that doesn’t mean that downtown Macon restaurants aren’t still firing up the grill. The Telegraph worked with NewTown Macon on a list of downtown restaurants offering curbside service to customers.

Currently, all participating downtown restaurants and bars with street access have bagged meters in front of them with the business name on them and are equipped for “speedy to-go orders with designated parking,” according to Emily Hopkins, Director of Place and Main Street Macon Manager.

“Patrons who come downtown to pick up to-go orders can park in the spaces that have been reserved by the blue, Park Macon-Bibb branded bags placed on meters in front of every restaurant. They can park free of charge for a short amount of time to pick up their order,” she said.

If your business is locally owned and is offering curbside pick-up and would like to be added to this list, please email your address, hours and business phone number to breaking@macon.com. Below is a list of downtown restaurants who have informed NewTown Macon they would like to participate in curbside pickup:
