New indoor slide park opens in Austell

This week, a new indoor slide park opened in Austell.

Slick City Action Park is an indoor dry-slide and air court park for all ages that features interactive experiences, entertainment and, of course, slides.

The action park chain was founded in 2021 and already has 139 locations nationwide, according to the company. The Austell location will be the first one in Georgia.

Located near the intersection of Power Springs Road and East-West Connector, the park features a corkscrew-style slide that's unique among Slick City locations, as well as a sport air court with an air-cushioned floor for basketball and dodgeball games, a swing and trapeze area and an arcade.

The park also features dedicated spaces and slides for younger children.

The new location is co-owned by south Cobb residents Mehtab Wasi and Chase Nelson, who said they were drawn to open one by the park's unique attractions and potential to bring new entertainment to families in the area.

"For us, this was about bringing something completely new and exciting to the community," Wasi said. "We saw an opportunity to create an experience where families can make memories together while enjoying attractions they simply can't find anywhere else in Georgia. That's incredibly rewarding."
