Cobb Schools names new chief academic officer, chief of staff, executive cabinet appointment

Cobb Schools' Kevin Carpenter and Matt Moody have been tapped to succeed Catherine Mallanda and Sherri Hill as the district's chief academic officer and chief of staff, respectively, as unanimously approved by the Cobb Board of Education Thursday.

Moody serves as the assistant superintendent of nine Cobb high schools - Allatoona, Campbell, Kell, Lassiter, Osborne, Pope, Sprayberry, Walton and Wheeler - while Carpenter is assistant superintendent of 23 elementary schools.

Pearson Middle School Principal Dean Yoder and Allatoona High School Principal Lexie Bostick will take their place as level assistant superintendents.

In addition, the board unanimously approved the extension of the employment contracts for the following assistant superintendents and members of Ragsdale's executive cabinet, effective July 1:

♦ Keeli Bowen, chief human resources officer;

♦ John Floresta, chief strategy and accountability officer;

♦ David Baker, chief financial officer;

♦ Marc Smith, chief technology and operations officer;

♦ Jasmine Kullar, chief school leadership officer;

♦ Bruce Fraser, level assistant superintendent;

♦ Ehsan Kattoula, assistant superintendent of accountability;

♦ Brenda Carter, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning support and specialized services;

♦ Adam Hill, level assistant superintendent;

♦ Liss Maynard, level assistant superintendent;

♦ Kelly Metcalfe, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning;

♦ Josh Morreale, assistant superintendent of school safety operations;

♦ Bertha Nelson, level assistant superintendent;

♦ Ed Wagner, level assistant superintendent;

♦ Gretchen Walton, assistant superintendent of compliance and legislative affairs.
