Police investigating fatal east Cobb crash

Cobb Police are investigating a fatal crash along Lower Roswell Road in east Cobb that killed one woman Thursday.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:06 a.m. at the intersection of Old Paper Mill Road and Lower Roswell Road, according to Sgt. Eric Smith, spokesperson for the department.

Police's preliminary investigation revealed that, at the time of the crash, 57-year-old Yodit Momo, of Atlanta, was driving a gray 2014 Toyota Camry west on Old Paper Mill Road, while simultaneously, Charles Warren, 44, of Acworth, drove a white 2020 Dodge Ram with a trailer in tow eastbound on Lower Roswell Road toward its intersection with Old Paper Mill Road.

In the passenger seat of Warren's truck was 24-year-old Kennesaw resident Benjamin Chittick, Smith said.

According to police, as the Dodge entered the intersection, Momo's Toyota entered its path. The front of the Dodge then collided with the left side of the Toyota, redirecting it northeast until it came to a stop on the shoulder of Lower Roswell Road.

Warren's Dodge also continued in a northeasterly direction and came to a stop on the north shoulder of Lower Roswell Road.

Momo sustained fatal injuries from the crash, police report, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office. Her next of kin has been notified.

No other injuries were reported.

The collision remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department STEP Unit at 770-499-3987.
