String of robberies in Warner Robins, Byron related

Officers captured an armed robbery suspect Wednesday morning in Peach County near Byron.

Edward William Holt, 27, of Macon, was arrested just after 7 a.m. as Byron police officers and Peach County sheriff’s deputies were looking for a suspect in an armed robbery just before 4:30 a.m. at the Waffle House at 241 Ga. 49 in Byron.

Police got to the restaurant within minutes and chased a man, who crossed Interstate 75 and got away.

Officers set up a perimeter near Chapman Road and Woodland Drive and spotted Holt about 7 a.m. near McNeal Insurance.

They caught him in the woods and charged him with armed robbery.

Holt also is a suspect in a string of armed robberies earlier Wednesday between 12:30-2:09 a.m. in Warner Robins, said Jennifer Parson, public information officer for Warner Robins police.

The first armed robbery was at Wendy’s, 1295 S. Houston Lake Road at 12:30 a.m., the second at Taco Bell, 709 Lake Joy Road at 12:58 a.m., and the third incident was a personal armed robbery at Hop-in, 1081 W. Ga. 96 at 2:09 a.m., according to a Warner Robins police news release.
