Elko woman killed in I-75 crash
WARNER ROBINS -- A woman was killed in an early morning crash Tuesday on Interstate 75 near the Russell Parkway exit.
Jackie Fay Horn, 55, of Elko, was driving her pickup northbound on the interstate when the truck hydroplaned in a heavy downpour, hit a guardrail and overturned, said Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks.
Horn, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck in the 1 a.m. crash, Rooks said.
A sports utility vehicle also was involved in the accident, having struck the pickup, Rooks said. One of the people inside the sport utility vehicle was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, with injuries that were not life threatening, he said.
