Aldi holds hiring event in Macon for area grocery stores

Aldi supermarket is holding a hiring event Wednesday in Macon to fill jobs at several stores.

The nationwide chain is looking to fill 10 positions at its Macon, Warner Robins, Fayetteville and McDonough stores, according to Colleen Baker with Weber Shandwick public relations firm.

The hiring event is part of a national push to fill more than 2,500 positions, according to a news release.

The event will be held 7 a.m.-6 p.m. at Macon Marriott City Center, 240 Coliseum Drive. The pay ranges from $10.50 an hour for a store associate to $22 an hour for a manager trainee, the release states. Applicants must be 18 years old to apply, able to lift 45 pounds and available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday-Sunday. For more information about Aldi, go to www.aldi.us.

Aldi operates more than 1,400 stores in 32 states.
