Mallory Jones running for Bibb Commission seat

Macon real estate agent Mallory Jones announced Thursday that he plans to run for the Bibb County Commmission District 3 seat as a Republican.

The post is now held by Elmo Richardson, who has announced that he is not running again. Former Bibb County Coroner Ed Bond is also running for the post.

Jones, 64, said he wants to hold the line on taxes, improve government transparency and find ways to improve the community.

“As a Realtor, we’re like an ambassador in this community because we sell it every day,” Jones said. “We need a top-notch product, and I see it sliding.”

Jones came to Bibb County in 1970 with a family business. He said the county needs to become a safe, vibrant community so it can grow and make life better for residents.
